Money, the root of all evil according to some, is what is putting a damper on the Integra.
It's like a wild horse that's been captured, waiting for the moment it can jump the fence and run free.
Or like a robot that was purpose-built to assassinate a world leader, but lost it's programming and doesn't know what it is anymore.
The Integra wants to roll. It's got the soul, the passion, but not the parts.. yet.
I got my tax return. It wasn't as much as I wanted, but I won't complain. It's like free money.. that I earned..
Anyway, ordered clear side markers and clear bumper signals for the integra. Today I'm supposed to meet a guy and buy his headlights and a gauge cluster. Hopefully that happens, because this car is begging to be made beautiful.
I have chosen to spend some of my money on the car, rather than saving for a new motor. The reason behind this is because the motor in it runs and will work for a while still, and if I tried saving for the motor at my current income rate, it would be three months before I could afford it. I'm looking into a second job, and if that happens, so does a new motor. Maybe even a built motor, lol.
This is sort of the same story for other "big ticket" items, like new tires and a stereo. What I've got is doing the job for now, and that's okay (although the tires are kind of risking my life).
Off to class for now. Updates to come.

Troubles
The integra has problems, this we all know. More recently, however, it has developed an oil burn. A bad one.
It burns a lot at startup, and whenever you feather that throttle into higher rpms, you are rewarded with a cloud of blue smoke. It's pretty much the worst news of my life.
I can continue to drive it, but it's not going to get any better, and I'll have to continue to pour oil into it.. $$$$
The cheaper way to go is to source a whole new motor for it. The problem is finding one for a good price from a reputable seller. Cheap and reputable don't usually go in the same sentence though, I worry.
Kind of want to just quit the 'teg right now and ride my bike everywhere.

The Work Continues
I got all the parts from Rock Auto, and did the tune-up. Fuel filter gave me a lot of trouble, but I got it to stop leaking eventually.
I'm not sure if I'm pleased with the results. It certainly pepped things up a bit, but I'm still dealing with misfiring at idle and really, really bad gas mileage. I bought some vacuum tube yesterday, and today I'm going to try and fix any vacuum leaks, since there's a lot of tube missing, as well as clean out the IACV.
While I was tired and frustrated yesterday morning, I ordered an o2 sensor. I'm almost positive that it isn't the problem, but it was cheap and maybe I'll sell it on Craigslist for some of my cash back, or maybe the car will get it. Don't fix what's not broken, right?

Trial by Freeway
The Integra went on a roadtrip! To Beaverton! At least, I think we went to Beaverton. I can't remember.
Anyways, it was past Portland, and I am surprised that (the axle didn't seize, rear tires didn't blow, timing belt didnt skip a tooth, I didn't get pulled over for speeding). You pick one, or all. The trip was uneventful and my pal Darien put a down-payment on Honda Civic. I drove it, and it was pretty great, besides from a bad sensor which puts the car into limp mode. But that should be easy enough to fix.
And I got a package from Rock Auto!! But not the one I wanted. We have to wait until Friday for that. Here's a teaser:

| Doesn't it fit nicely? Like a breakdown kit belongs in this Integra... 'cause it does. |

Did some nickle/dime purchases through Rock Auto. With shipping, $58. I was going to go for the NGK plug wires, but ultimately decided against it because I got a premium set of wires for eight bucks! The internet is a crazy thing, and ordering the NGK wires instead would have brought the total to around $100.
In other news, I was gifted some windshield wiper blades, and they're amazing. I am lucky, and so is the integra.

Exhaust
Today has been a slightly better assortment of snacks for the 'teg.
I brought it into the auto shop, and my companion Darien lifted it up.
We analyzed the problem with the exhaust and the shifter, formulated a plan of action, and were about to begin the repair process when Frank came in with a BFP. A big frank pipe.
Through some sort of wizardry, the problem was fixed with the BFP. After a quick burst through the parking lot, I have determined that the exhaust is a problem no more; although it isn't the prettiest system, it's going to get the job done until I decide to upgrade.
So yes, it's 100% certain that hammers or pipes of a large variety can be administered to nearly any problem conceivable.
In other news, I get paid today, which means more goodies for the car. It hasn't rained yet, but we'll see how the car holds up later tonight for certain.

Slight Loss
Today was a mixed bag of nuts for the integra.
Progress:
-I patched some more leakage, and will find out how well I did, probably very soon.
-I tightened up my exhaust pipe so it doesn't leak anymore
Unprogress:
-I lost the nuts that hold my windshield wiper arms on. This is very bad.
-By tightening the exhaust piping, the whole exhaust got pulled upwards (due to the pipe actually being connected properly rather than just hanging down by the ground). This has caused the exhaust pipe to rest in contact with my shift linkage. It's rather tough to shift now, and the whole stick vibrates with the muffler.
These things will need to be fixed very soon in order to preserve my sanity.
